Introduction
In chapter 7 of the book of Revelation, we find the description of two groups of people. The first is identified as the 144000, and the second is called the Great Multitude. This study does not aim to determine who these two groups are but rather to present the characteristics of the 144,000 and the Great Multitude. May the reader and student of the Scriptures consider these characteristics in their studies on this subject, thereby facilitating research and a deeper understanding of it.
THE 144 THOUSAND
- They are sealed with the Seal of the living God (Rev 7:2)
- They are called “servants of God” (Rev 7:3)
- They are marked on their foreheads (Rev 7:3)
- They are related to the 12 tribes of Israel (Rev 7:4)
- They have the Father’s name in their foreheads (Rev 14:1)
- They are seen on Mount Zion (Rev 14:1)
- They follow the Lamb wherever he goes (Rev 14:4)
- They were bought as firstfruits (Rev 14:4)
- They are blameless (Rev 14:5)
- No deceit was found in their mouths (Rev 14:5)
- Learn the song of the Great Multitude (Rev 14:3)
THE GREAT CROWD
- They are composed of people from all tribes (Rev 7:9).
- They wear white garments (Rev 7:9).
- They have palm branches in their hands (Rev 7:9).
- They cry out loudly about the salvation of God and Christ (Rev 7:10).
- They came out of the Great Tribulation (Rev 7:13-14).
- They are seen before the throne of God (Rev 7:15).
- They serve day and night in His temple (Rev 7:15).
- They play harps (Rev 14:2; 15:2).
- They sing a new song (Rev 14:3).
- They were victorious over the beast, its image, its mark, and its number (Rev 15:2).
- They stand on the sea of glass before the throne of God (Rev 15:2).
- They know the song of Moses and the Lamb (Rev 15:3).
Based on this information, I invite the reader to study these two groups and learn more about the characteristics of the 144,000 and the Great Multitude!
