The Father Will Accompany Jesus on His Return

Conteúdo

Introduction

When we talk about Jesus’ return, many people envision His glorious coming, accompanied by a multitude of angels. However, few realize an even greater detail: The Father Will Accompany Jesus on His Return. This astonishing truth, though often overlooked, is clearly revealed in Scripture and holds profound significance for our understanding of Christ’s second coming. Does the Bible really teach this? How can we be sure of this revelation? And what does this event mean for us? Throughout this study, we will explore biblical passages that confirm this truth and reveal the magnitude of this moment, which will be even more glorious than we often imagine.

The Most Anticipated Event: Matthew 25:31

Without a shadow of a doubt, the most anticipated event in the entire Bible is the return of Jesus. When this event takes place, Jesus will not come as He did in His incarnation-as a humble man, devoid of His glory and power. Instead, He will return in His full majesty, clothed in glory.

There is much to be said about His coming, but I would like to highlight a very interesting detail about this event.

Many already know that when Jesus returns, He will not come alone. In His own words, He stated that He will be accompanied by a multitude of angels, as we read in the passage below:

Matthew 25:31 – “And when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory

Jesus Will Not Come Alone

But the text reveals even more. Jesus did not say that He would come with only a few angels, but that He would come with all the angels that exist! Have you ever stopped to think about how immense this event will be for Jesus to bring every angel from heaven to earth? And consider this-God did not create just a small number of angels. While the Bible does not provide an exact number, it assures us of the existence of “thousands of thousands” and “millions of millions” who serve God and stand before His throne. Imagine how many additional “thousands of thousands” and “millions of millions” were beyond what the prophet Daniel saw in his vision!

Daniel 7:10 – “A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened

The conflict between God and Satan, which has engulfed the earth, is taken very seriously by the heavenly beings. If this were not the case, there would be no reason for all these angels to accompany Jesus at His return. But it is not only the presence of this vast host of angels that highlights the magnitude and significance of this event. What many do not realize is that Almighty God Himself, the eternal King of kings, will also come with Christ and all the heavenly angels.

There are two passages that confirm that Jesus’ Father will accompany Him. The first is found in Matthew 26:63-64, where we read Christ’s own words:

Matthew 26:63-64 – “But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, ‘I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.’ Jesus said to him, ‘You have said it; but I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.’

Jesus’ Father Will Come Along

When we read the Bible, it is very common to overlook significant details. In the passage above, Jesus tells the high priest that He will come on the clouds of heaven. However, this is not the only detail we find. He also states that He will come “seated at the right hand of Power“. The “Power” Jesus refers to here is a direct reference to the One who sustains the entire universe by His own authority-God Himself. In other words, the Father will accompany Jesus at His return!

The second passage that confirms this truth is found in the vision of the final events recorded by the prophet John in the sixth chapter of the book of Revelation.

Revelation 6:15-17 – “And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the chief captains, the mighty men, and every bondman and every free man hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who shall be able to stand?’

John describes all categories of people who will not be saved at the end of time, desperately seeking refuge and crying out for the mountains and rocks to fall on them. But why are they trying to hide? The passage tells us that they seek to hide “from the face of Him who sits on the throne“. Who is this seated on the throne? Is it Jesus? No, because the verse continues by stating that they also want to hide “from the wrath of the Lamb” This means there are two distinct beings present in this scene-the One who sits on the throne and the Lamb.

Conclusion: The Father Will Accompany Jesus on His Return

Through these two passages, we can see how highly the saved are regarded in heaven. Not only will Jesus return to gather us, but all the angels will come with Him, along with His own Father-the God of the entire universe! The Father will accompany Jesus at His return. How incredible and glorious this event will be, as the great King Himself comes alongside His Son.

May you and I continually surrender ourselves to God and Jesus, for their love for their children is eternal. Let us do our part so that we may stand on that great day.

May God bless the reader.
