Who are the Kings of Revelation 19:16?

The Kings of Revelation 19

Conteúdo

Introduction

When we read Revelation 19:16, where Scripture calls Jesus “King of kings,” the question arises: Who are these kings mentioned in the text? In this article, I will explore the meaning of this expression and what Scripture reveals about those who will reign with Christ in His kingdom. We will analyze biblical passages that shed light on this issue and understand how this promise relates to the faithful who overcome on the Lord’s side.

Who are the Kings of Revelation 19?

The text of Revelation 19:16 says that Jesus will be the “King of kings“. But who are these kings that the text refers to? Who are the kings of Revelation 19? Will there be people in the world to come who will rule as kings before other people? The text in question is as follows:

Revelation 19:11-16 – “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him was called Faithful and True: … And he hath on his robe and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

It is common for people to have these types of doubts when they come across such passages. Although these doubts are not directly related to our salvation, it is interesting to seek answers in the Scriptures.

The fact is that we are participating in the great controversy between God and Satan. In this battle, our lives are at stake. The Scriptures classify God’s people as those who keep His commandments and have the faith of Jesus (Revelation 12:17; 14:12). They are also those who will have victory over sin (Revelation 3:21).

Winners Will Receive Crowns

All those who win this battle will receive the honor of becoming kings and priests of God through Jesus. Their race or social status does not matter here, and we can find this truth in the following text:

Revelation 1:6 – “And he hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father: to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Through the merits of Christ, He will make us “kings and priests to God and his Father“, and this will occur when Jesus returns as “King of kings and Lord of lords“, at His second coming. With this in mind, we can understand who the kings of Revelation 19 are!

Final Considerations

In short, may you and I be part of that group of people who will stand on that great day. Just as it is written: “to Him be glory and power forever and ever, Amen.

May God bless the reader.
