Introduction
When we talk about Jesus’ return, many people imagine His glorious coming accompanied by a multitude of angels, but few realize an even greater detail: the Father will accompany Jesus upon His return. Does the Bible really teach this? How can we be sure of this revelation? And what does this event mean to us? Throughout this study, we will explore biblical passages that confirm this truth and reveal the magnitude of this moment, which will be much more glorious than we usually imagine.
The Most Anticipated Event
Without a shadow of a doubt, the event that can be classified as the most anticipated in the entire Bible is the return of Jesus. When this event occurs, Jesus will not come in the same way He came in His incarnation, as a simple man, devoid of His glory and power, but He will come as He is, clothed in glory.
There is much to say about His coming, but I would like to share a very interesting detail about this event.
Many already know that when Jesus returns, He will not be alone. In His own words, He stated that He will be accompanied by a multitude of angels, as we can read below:
Matthew 25:31 – “And when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.“
Jesus Will Not Come Alone
But the text says more than that. In it we can read that Jesus did not say that He would come with only a few angels, but that He would come with ALL the angels that exist! Have you ever stopped to think how big this event will be for Jesus to bring all the angels from heaven to this earth? And look, there are no few angels that God created. The Bible does not give us an exact number, but it assures us of the existence of “thousands of thousands” and “millions of millions” who only serve God and assist Him before His throne. Imagine how many others”thousands of thousands” and “millions of millions” were not contemplated by the prophet Daniel in his vision! (Daniel 7:10)
The conflict between God and Satan that has engulfed the earth is treated very seriously by the heavenly beings. If this were not the case, there would be no need for all these beings to accompany Jesus on His return. But it is not only the fact that all these beings will come with Jesus that shows us how great and important this event will be. What many do not know is that Almighty God Himself, the eternal King of kings, will also come with Christ and all the other angels. There are two passages that confirm to us that Jesus’ Father will also come with Him. The first of these is Matthew 26:63-64, which records the words of Christ Himself:
Matthew 26:63-64 – “But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, ‘I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God’. Jesus said to him, ‘You have said it; but I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.’“
Jesus’ Father Will Come Along
When we read the Bible, it is very common to overlook very significant details. In the text above that we just read, Jesus tells the high priest that He will come on the clouds of heaven, but this is not the only detail we find. He also stated that He will come “seated at the right hand of Power“. That “Power” mentioned here by Jesus is a reference to the One who maintains the existence of the entire universe through His own power, that is, God Himself. In other words, the Father will accompany Jesus on His Return!
The second text in which we also find this information is a description of the final events seen in vision by the prophet John, and this text is written in the sixth chapter of the book of Revelation.
Revelation 6:15-17 – “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains, And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?“
John saw all the categories of people who will not be saved in the end time, trying to hide and crying out to the mountains and rocks to fall on them. Why did they want to hide? The text goes on to say that they wanted to hide from “the face of Him who sits on the throne.” But who is this on the throne? Is it Jesus? No, because the text goes on to say that they also want to hide “from the face of Him who sits on the throne of the wrath of the Lamb“. There are two people present in this text, both the One who sits on the throne and the Lamb.
Conclusion
Through these two texts we can see how the saved are regarded before all of heaven. Not only will Jesus return to seek us, but all the angels will come with Him and also His own Father, the God of the entire universe! The Father will accompany Jesus on His return! How fantastic and glorious will be this event where the great King will be present together with His Son.
May you and I increasingly surrender ourselves to God and Jesus, for their love for their children is eternal. Let us do our part so that we can stand on that great day.
May God bless the reader.
