Knowing God’s Will – John 7:17

John 7:17 – “If anyone wants to do his will, he will know about the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on my own

Knowing God’s will is a deep desire for those who love the Lord and want to follow Him faithfully. In this verse, Jesus teaches that those who sincerely seek to obey God will have discernment to recognize the truth. This means that obedience comes before complete understanding. As we become more willing to follow God’s will, God reveals more of Himself and His Word to us.

Oftentimes, we want to understand every detail before we take a step of faith. However, Jesus teaches us that true understanding comes with practice. When we submit to God’s will, we experience His faithfulness and receive greater clarity about His direction. Knowing God’s will is not a theoretical exercise, but a commitment of faith and obedience.

Furthermore, this principle protects us from deception. There are many doctrines and ideas that seem correct at first glance, but only those who seek to obey God can discern what truly comes from Him. The Holy Spirit guides hearts that are willing to do God’s will, enlightening understanding and confirming the truth.

Therefore, if we want to grow spiritually, we need to act in faith. God does not reveal everything at once, but guides us every step of the way. When we choose to obey, even without understanding everything, He gives us wisdom and understanding. This is the path to a full life aligned with God’s purpose.

Prayer: Knowing God’s Will

Lord, help me to trust You and obey Your will, even when I don’t understand everything. Give me discernment to recognize Your truth. Amen.
